01 · Direct answer
They overlap—but the product priorities differ.
Hamen and Moongate both provide binaural and non-binaural rhythmic options, pure or named tones, noise and ambience. Hamen is a curated mobile tool with 79 sessions, simple sound shaping and widgets. Moongate publicly emphasizes a larger evolving soundscape catalog, playlists, offline downloads, Backdrop mixing and detailed timers.
Hamen is officially on iPhone and Android. Moongate’s official sources currently center on its Apple app; we did not find an official Android release during this review. That is a meaningful distinction for mixed-device households, but it could change.

Verified 20 August 2026. Moongate prices, offers and platform availability can change. Hamen does not yet provide arbitrary custom-frequency entry or saved custom sound recipes.
03 · Sound design
Hamen is smaller and more explicit; Moongate is broader.
Hamen shows a curated rate and compatible production method. A beat session can offer binaural or isochronic playback; a pure-tone session can offer steady or pulse playback. The library also contains color noise and original ambience. This makes it easy to understand what the player is doing, but Hamen is not a laboratory: you cannot currently type any carrier and beat frequency you want.
Moongate’s official material describes binaural and isochronic modes, pure tones, 432 Hz, 528 Hz, Solfeggio labels, colored noise and a substantial soundscape library. Its playlist and intensity tools can suit listeners who want to build longer, more layered routines.
Both products organize audio using labels associated with sleep, focus or calm. Those are listening intentions. They do not establish that a selected frequency guarantees a brain state, health effect or performance gain.
04 · Offline, background and routine
Moongate documents more routine depth; Hamen reaches more phones.
Moongate’s support center explicitly explains offline soundscape downloads, Backdrop mode for mixing beneath other apps and a configurable timer. These are well-documented advantages for travel, layered listening and detailed bedtime routines.
Hamen keeps the workflow intentionally short: choose a session, select an available mode, set levels and timer, then let the screen fade away. It adds a five-day plan whose progress follows listening time, recent history, favorites, a persistent mini-player, lock-screen/media controls and platform-specific widgets.
On-device visibility is a genuine Hamen advantage. iOS users can return through Home and Lock Screen widgets and follow a Live Activity; Android users have a Home-screen widget and system media controls. Moongate may add or document similar surfaces later, so this page is date-stamped.
05 · Evidence language
Hamen deliberately avoids “science-backed results.”
Moongate uses “science-backed” language in its marketing. We did not locate a Moongate-specific peer-reviewed study in the official sources reviewed. That does not show the product is ineffective; it means broad auditory research and product-specific validation should not be treated as the same thing.
Hamen’s Science & Listening page labels established acoustics, mixed human evidence, early research and intention-based traditions separately. It also says when a cited study did not test Hamen. We consider that distinction more useful than turning every frequency label into an outcome claim.
06 · Decision
Choose the ecosystem and depth you will actually use.
For iPhone + Android and native surfaces.
Best fit for a curated cross-platform library, transparent mode labels, five-day plans, widgets, recent on-device history and conservative evidence framing.
For deeper Apple-first soundscape routines.
Best fit for documented offline downloads, playlists, Backdrop mixing, a broad soundscape catalog and more detailed timer behavior.
If you use Android, Hamen is currently the straightforward option between these two. If you are Apple-only and care more about playlist and soundscape depth than native widgets or evidence framing, Moongate may fit better.
07 · FAQ
Hamen and Moongate questions.
Is Moongate available on Android?
We did not find an official Android release in Moongate’s public product and store sources on 20 August 2026. Hamen is officially available on Google Play. Check Moongate’s site for later changes.
Do both apps have binaural beats?
Yes. Stereo headphones are needed for the intended binaural difference percept. Both also provide options that can work through speakers.
